Share a monitor with someone you care about

Lend the physical device with its instructions, not just a link. Allow enough time for a useful measurement in each home. Your own home is not monitored while the device is away.

1. Measure at home

Choose a frequently used room on the lowest occupied level. Follow the model’s placement instructions: keep it away from windows, outside doors, vents, direct sunlight and moisture, and leave it in place throughout the measurement.

A first reading is not a complete assessment. Corentium Home 2 shows its first radon average after 24 hours; Airthings recommends at least a month for a more meaningful long-term average. Follow state testing and results guidance for the purpose of your test. Do not delay required follow-up or a home-sale test to finish a loan.

2. Save your results and start a fresh measurement

Keep your own record of the dates, room, units and readings before handing the device over. Save exported data privately. Agree with the borrower on who can see their readings; do not label a shared device with a household’s address.

Corentium Home 2

The display works without an app. For a simple loan, the borrower can read it without using your account or password. If you want to preserve detailed history, fully sync to the Airthings app before starting fresh; otherwise the previous data on the device is cleared.

At the new location, open the back cover and hold Bluetooth and Units together for 5 seconds to start a new measurement. This instruction applies to Corentium Home 2, not every Airthings model. The first new radon values appear after 24 hours.

Starting a new measurement preserves earlier app history; it is not an account privacy reset. If you used the app, review the manufacturer’s account instructions before giving another person app access. Do not reconnect and upload the borrower’s readings without their agreement.

View Radon and View Plus

These Wi-Fi models are useful for connected monitoring at home. Before lending either model, sync and export the readings you want to keep. In the Airthings app, open Settings, Devices, select your monitor and choose Unpair to end the old measurement. Your earlier measurements remain in your web dashboard. The borrower should set it up with their own account and Wi-Fi, never your password.

For View models, Airthings explains that a factory reset clears stored Bluetooth bonds and Wi-Fi networks: hold the reset button on the back for about 5 to 6 seconds until the display shows a countdown. Also unpair the monitor in the app and forget it in your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Re-pairing starts a new measurement segment. Unpairing, starting a new measurement and factory resetting are different actions. Do not apply the Corentium Home 2 button sequence to a View model. Verify the device is ready for a new measurement and that your old readings and network details are not available to the borrower before handoff. If you cannot confirm the account transfer, ask Airthings support before lending it.

3. Lend it with the right instructions

Include the model instructions, agreed loan period, placement requirements and a fresh measurement start date. Explain which averages the display shows. A changing daily number is not the same as a long-term average. Start a fresh measurement again when the device comes home.

For elevated readings, use state follow-up guidance. For a sale or mitigation decision, use the appropriate approved test or licensed professional. You do not need to buy a monitor to get results help.

• Agree on privacy, loan duration and return date.
• Start a fresh measurement in the new home; do not mix homes in one average.
• Confirm suitable placement and leave the device there.
• Use separate accounts where needed; never share passwords.
• Include state results guidance and explain when professional testing is needed.
• On return, preserve the borrower’s privacy and start fresh at home.
